Sunset Beach

This dive site is ideal for newly certified divers, open water course and certain advanced open water specialities due to its protected bay and good balance of both shallow and deeper waters.

As you enter you are welcomed by a large selection of marine life that call this place their home. In the bay we can find an inert pipe which is home ‘Bruce’ our local rainbow wrasse fishy friend

Slightly further out we can reach a nice patch of octopus holes where most of the time we are able to visit larger variations of this wonderful creature.

What you can expect here are large selections of fish including rainbow wrasse, sea bream,common blennies, mullets, grouper, damselfish etc, also sea urchins, octopus and sea cucumbers.

Marina Del Este

Marina Del Este is an incredible marine reserve with an abundance of marine life, voted one of the best dive sites in the south of Spain!

This dive sites have several options for diving, catering for all levels of experience. One route involves following the cliff wall along the western side of the bay where huge rocks protrude from the cliff face, providing a maze of large crevices. Continuing on this path you will come to the tip of the marine reserve, here the wall drops down passed 40 meters; perfect for deep divers and deep specialty courses! Along the wall there are many sponges and soft corals which is ideal for keen photographers.

Marine life

Seahorses and Barracuda are beginning to be spotted on a more regular basis and schools of damselfish, anthias and wrasse will keep any diver focused on the huge amount of marine life. On occation Mola Mola (sun fish) have been sighted.

Los Tres Picos

Protruding from the beautiful blue waters of the med are three peaks located close to La herradura bay and the Marine reserve,

The peaks are one of the best dive sites in the whole area and is recommended to hold an Advanced Open Water certification level or at least experience in shore diving.

This dive site is situated between 6 – 30 metres in depth. Throughout the dive there there are many crevices where many species of marine life have made their home, along with hard and soft corals.

Next to the standard house-guest as wrasse, octopus, eels and cuttlefish, sunfish also have been spotted on regular occasions.

The Tower

The tower in Marbella is an amazing dive site located 250 meters from the sandy beach.

This dive site is better suited for Open water diver level and above and does require a brief surface swim from the shore. Over the years hundreds of fish have swam over to this location and made it their home, with the calm waters and little boat traffic it has become a perfect breading ground for many species. On a single dive you will find all sorts of medeteranian marine life swimming around!

The tower rises from a depth of 10 meters and has two small wrecks that lie at 12 meters, additionally there is also another smaller tower which lies slightly to the south on its side.

This dive location has an amazing selection of fish from wrasse, blennies, sardines, groupers and much more, this location is also home to octopus, conger eels, crabs, sea cucumbers

There is also a fish farm quite close which is known to attract dolphins

La Herradura

La Herradura is a gentle shore based dive which is ideal to nurse anybody into diving with a gentle drop down onto the reefs and rock formations.

This dive site is ideal for discover scuba divers, Open water courses and snorkelling, the beach is protected and offers some of the clearest waters of all the dive sites we can offer

As mostly in the Mediterranean waters you can find wrasse, octopus, eels and cuttlefish.

Shallow Reef

The house reef is situated outside the dive centre.

We drop down onto a rocky reef that sits approx. 4 metres in depth!

The reef has been artificially made to act as a defence to keep the sand on the beach, which now has turned into a haven for eels, octopus and spider crabs. Other local species that can be located here are sea wrasse, parrot fish, bream and rays.

SS Rosslyn

The SS Rosslyn is our most popular dive site. She was a 3679 ton Cardiff steamer build in 1902.

Due to a strong south-west gale she dragged anchor and despite assistance from two government tugs she sunk the following morning. Thankfully no lives were lost as all crew were evacuated safely.

She now sits on a sandy seabed at the bottom of the South Mole in 23 meters of water and is 350 feet long.

What can be found on the site:

Octopus, Cuttlefish ,Conger and moray eels, Nudibranchs, Spider crabs and common lobster, Wide range of fish species

This dive site is only accessible by boat and due to the depth is suitable for advanced certified divers and upwards

The Spanish Barges

The Spanish Barges are a series of 4 individual wrecks, 2 of which are believed to have been dumped there in the 1950s during the refurbishment of the jetty. The other two wrecks, which lay further from the shore were sunk in the 1980s as part of Gibraltars artificial reef program.

The depths of the wrecks are:

Barge 1: 8m

Barge 2: 9m

Barge 3: 14m

Barge 4: 19m

What can be found on the site:

Ocotpus, Cuttlefish, Conger and Moray eels, Nudibranchs, Spider crabs and common lobster, Wide range of fish species

Barges 1, 2 and 3 are suitable for PADI Scuba and Open Water certified divers of all experience levels.

However Barge 4, which lies in 19m is more suited to divers certified with an advanced qualification.

La Buchana

La Buchana is one of the newest wrecks in Gibraltar. She was an old Tug boat that was towed out to sea and sunk deliberately. This wreck provides excellent penetration opportunities – and is a firm favourite with the Dive Masters and Instructors locally. A ‘Must Do’ dive!

She lies at 19 meters of water and sits proudly upright on a flat sandy bottom. She is 25 meters long, 8 meters wide and is home to a wide variety of marine life.

Octopus, Cuttlefish, Conger and Moray eels, Nudibranchs, Spider crabs and common lobster, Wide range of fish species

This dive site is suitable for advanced certified divers and upwards.

The Sun Swale

Welcome to Gibraltars newest wreck! The Sun Swale was a hundred and ninty five ton tug boat built in 1966.

She is now a part of Gibraltars famous artificial reef project. 28 meters long, 6 meters wide and 10 meters tall, she sits in 22 meters of water, close to the rocks of the South Mole and very close to the Seven Sisters dive site. Fantastic for wreck penetration dives.

MFV Helen

MFV Helen was a wooden fishing trawler, which was sunk deliberately in 1990, being beyond viable economic repair.

Initially she was planned to be sunk just off the Seven Sisters, however due to a strong northerly current at the time she finally came to rest alongside the South Mole.

MFV Helen is found on a sandy seabed in 22 meters of water. She is 20 meters in length and 6 meters wide, home to a wide range of marine life typical of Gibraltarian dive sites. Great for wreck penetration dives and divers with a keen interest in photography due to the abundance of aquatic life and pleasing asthetics of the wreck itself.

This dive site is suitable for experienced divers due to the depth and the upredictable currents around the vicinity.

The Sea Hawk

On the 30th of April 2002 one of Gibraltar’s newest dive sites was purposely sunk by Mr Eric Shaw as part of the artificial reef project.

The Sea Hawk was a wooden vessel used to carry assorted cargo until she grew too old and was no longer required. The Sea Hawk is 25 meters long and rests in 27 meters of water on a flat sandy seabed.

Octopus, Cuttlefish, Conger and moray eels, Nudibranchs, Spider crabs and common lobster, Wide range of fish species

This dive site is only accessible by boat and due to the depth is suitable for advanced cetified divers and upwards.

The Arc de Jesus Christ

The Arc de Jesus Christ was purposely sunk as part of the Camp Bay artificial reef project. She was sunk in 1994. The Ark is a wooden 27 meter Spanish fishing boat, now lying in 19 metres of water.

Her wooden hull has almost completely rotted away. The metal superstructure can still be seen, standing proud off the seabed. The Ark’s bow has collapsed too.

Batty's Barge and The 482M

In August 1990 as part of Gibraltars ongoing artificial reef program, these Royal Navy cable – laying barges were deliberately sunk.

They are located no more than a 5 minutes swim from the shore of Camp Bay.

The 482M is situated in 16 meters of water and proudly sits upright on a flat sandy seabed. She is 30 meters long, 7 meters wide and stands 7 meters at her highest point. For the more adventurous this wreck can be explored from the inside too with several entry points and internal compartments.

Battys Barge is found nearby in 14 meters of water and also sits upright on a flat sandy seabed. She is 35 meters long, 9 meters wide and stands 6 meters at her highest point.

These two wrecks rest nicely beside one another and are usually both explored in the same dive, due to their close proximity and relatively shallow depth.
