The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first step towards becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. This course will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to assist PADI Instructors in teaching scuba diving courses and become a valuable member of any dive center team.

The prerequisites for the PADI Assistant Instructor course include being a certified PADI Divemaster or a certified PADI Assistant Instructor, having a minimum of 60 logged dives, and being at least 18 years old.

During the course, you will learn how to effectively teach and demonstrate diving skills, as well as how to assist with PADI courses and programs. You will also develop your knowledge of the PADI system, including the Standards and Procedures for conducting PADI courses, and the use of PADI educational materials.

The course is divided into two main components: knowledge development and practical application. During the knowledge development phase, you will study the PADI Instructor Manual and complete a series of quizzes and exams to assess your understanding of the material. You will also participate in classroom sessions, where you will learn about teaching techniques and dive theory.

The practical application phase is where you will put your knowledge into practice. You will participate in pool and open water sessions, where you will demonstrate your teaching skills and learn how to evaluate and provide feedback to students. You will also learn how to handle various diving emergencies and assist with rescue scenarios.

Upon completion of the PADI Assistant Instructor course, you will have the ability to teach various PADI programs, including the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program, PADI Skin Diver course, and the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course. You will also be able to teach and certify students in the Emergency First Response CPR and first aid program.
